The Constitutional Court of Romania has ordered a recount of the votes from the first round of the presidential election.

In Romania, all valid and invalid ballots from the first round of the presidential elections held on November 24 will be recounted due to allegations of fraud. This decision was announced by the press office of the Constitutional Court of Romania on November 28.
Конституционный суд Румынии распорядился о пересчете голосов первого тура президентских выборов.

The court examined the appeal from the presidential candidate of the National Conservative Party of Romania, Cristian Terhes, who accuses the Central Electoral Bureau of vote rigging in favor of the candidate from the Liberal Party "Union for the Salvation of Romania," Elena Lasconi.

As a result, the court ordered the CEB to recount the votes from the first round of the Romanian presidential elections and to provide the results of this verification by November 29. However, the case was not heard on the scheduled day, noted on the court's website.

"The Constitutional Court, considering that the Central Electoral Bureau must present the results of the re-examination and recount of ballots, including valid and invalid votes from the presidential elections on November 24, 2024, has decided to postpone the case until December 2, 2024," the press release states.
