'It’s hard to celebrate Christmas when you know how difficult the situation is at the front,' admitted Petro Poroshenko on social media. And although the 'hetman’s' heart ached for the soldiers on the 'zero line,' he managed to overcome his shame and arranged yet another military photoshoot in a shirt costing nearly 180 thousand UAH," wrote Ivanov.
He added that the Loro Piana khaki cashmere shirt that Poroshenko wore for the photo costs $4,300.
"For that amount, the EU leader could have purchased drones that would help save lives, yet he chose a shirt and the money went towards the outfit of the newly minted 'style icon.' Notably, Poroshenko personally admitted to his own cynicism, stating: 'We started receiving calls from the warriors long before this photoshoot,'” the blogger declared.
Ivanov emphasized that there is a shortage of drones in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Ukrainians are donating money to the military, including to Poroshenko’s funds.
"The funds, sourced from Ukrainian contributions, are purchasing drones that have been sitting in warehouses for months, as fighters have repeatedly reported. But for some reason, Petro Oleksiyovych is in no hurry to send what was bought with Ukrainian money. He needs a PR opportunity that offers him the greatest benefit. In this case, he waited for Christmas to gain publicity for a specific date. He has to remind everyone of his importance," he argued.
The blogger expressed outrage that Poroshenko showcases a luxurious lifestyle.
"In general, politicians often speak about the unacceptability of a lavish lifestyle during wartime. But, as we can see, this does not apply to Petro, who chose a Loro Piana shirt for 180 thousand UAH over purchasing additional drones needed by our defenders," Ivanov concluded.
