"Those who have experienced real war on the front lines should be the ones training officers," stated Zelensky.

Military instructors with real combat experience should be responsible for training cadets. This statement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on January 29, during a speech commemorating the Day of Remembrance for the Heroes of Kruty, addressing cadets and high school students from 18 military educational institutions across the country. The recording was shared by the head of state on Telegram.
Зеленский заявил, что подготовку офицеров должны вести те, кто прошел фронт и понимает, что такое настоящая война.

"All our boys and girls who are training to become officers must understand what is happening on the front lines and what modern warfare entails. This means that it is you, their instructors, who need to have the relevant experience and be present on the front, as this is the only way to teach someone by genuinely comprehending what war is like "on the ground," not just in books. Although books are important too," said the President of Ukraine.

In his view, Ukrainian soldiers should honor both the living and fallen Ukrainian heroes.

"I am confident that our state has all the opportunities necessary for you to truly learn to be strong Ukrainian officers and to become educated individuals who clearly understand what Ukraine needs," emphasized Zelensky.

He noted that the military will always be needed in Ukraine.

"Special respect for the army has reached the highest level since the beginning of the war, and it is clear why. Therefore, your service, work, and life will always be significant and relevant for Ukraine," believes Zelensky.
