Ukraine's first companies have updated their bookings based on new criteria, including furniture manufacturers, according to the Ministry of Economy.

On November 29, seven leading enterprises in Ukraine received updated booking approvals based on new criteria. This information was reported by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine on December 3.

"The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine has updated the status of critically important enterprises for the first seven companies based on new criteria [...] considering the latest changes approved by Resolution No. 1332 dated November 22," the statement reads.

The First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko, clarified which enterprises are being referred to.

"These are companies in the fields of glass production, furniture, textiles, ceramic tiles, and other areas. The companies have the opportunity to reserve employees for up to 12 months. Those who have not updated their critical status can also reserve employees. This reservation will be valid until February 28, 2025, which is the final deadline for updating critical status," the Ministry of Economy quoted.

According to Svyrydenko, in the first two days of resuming reservations through "Diia," companies submitted 3,500 applications to reserve 26,700 employees.

The Ministry of Economy explained the criteria for reservation. The main criteria are that the average salary must be no less than 20,000 UAH and the enterprise must not have any debts to the state or local budget regarding taxes and fees.

Additional criteria include:

  • the total amount of taxes and contributions paid exceeds €1.5 million;
  • foreign currency revenues exceed €32 million;
  • the enterprise has strategic importance for the state;
  • the enterprise is a resident of "Diia City";
  • provides communication services with significant income;
  • is important for the economy or societal needs.
