Ukraine and the U.S. held discussions throughout the night regarding an agreement on rare earth minerals, according to Axios.

American and Ukrainian officials engaged in negotiations throughout the night until the morning of February 21, discussing an agreement on rare earth minerals and efforts to prevent further deterioration of relations between the two countries. This information was reported by Axios, citing a U.S. official and a source familiar with the situation.
США и Украина провели всю ночь в переговорах о соглашении по редкоземельным минералам, сообщает Axios.

Disagreements over the agreement have triggered the most significant crisis in the relationship between Washington and Kyiv this week. Now, the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump and some Ukrainian officials are applying increased pressure on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to sign the agreement, according to the report.

According to sources, the decision lies with Zelensky, while interlocutors are concerned that the crisis between the U.S. and Ukraine will escalate if the president rejects the proposal.

An American official described this as a "critical scenario for the Ukrainians," as the resources in question could be worth trillions of dollars.

Axios does not disclose the details of the meeting, particularly who participated, but notes that Trump's special representative for Ukraine and the aggressor country, Russia, Kurt Kellogg, who arrived in Kyiv on the morning of February 19, is still in the Ukrainian capital and meeting with Zelensky's advisors.
