One of the cadets asked the president when the war would end, what is needed for that, and how they can help.
"When will the war end? It will end when Ukraine can achieve a just peace through its struggle. There is a lot involved in this. People have different views on it. First and foremost, a just peace means not forgetting all those who are no longer with us; they gave their lives," Zelensky responded.
According to him, a necessary condition for this must be fair accountability "for everything that the aggressor state has done."
"When we have this, when we can guarantee it – then the war will end. We are adults and understand that even in one form or another, transitioning to a diplomatic resolution of the war does not mean the war has definitively ended. We've seen this before; remember, the conflict was frozen after the occupation of Crimea and part of eastern Ukraine," Zelensky emphasized.
He noted that this time it is "very important to hold out until the end."
