Ukraine and China have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the agricultural sector.

The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitaliy Koval, met with the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China, Ma Shengkong, to discuss the opening of new markets for exports and the establishment of agro-processing facilities utilizing Chinese technologies, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Vitaliy Koval, discussed with the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China, Ma Shengkui, the opening of new markets for exports and the establishment of agro-processing enterprises utilizing Chinese technologies, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

"We see potential in mutual trade. For instance, in the first 10 months of this year, agricultural exports from Ukraine to China amounted to 1 billion 250 million dollars. Meanwhile, imports of agricultural products from China to Ukraine exceeded 220 million dollars," Koval stated.

The Minister also highlighted that another area of cooperation involves educational projects in the agricultural sector, where Ukraine is ready to both share its experience and acquire new knowledge. According to him, agro-education serves as a long-term bridge for collaboration between the countries.

During the meeting, the parties agreed on further contacts at the ministry level, as well as among agricultural associations to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.

As reported, representatives of the State Consumer Service and the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) discussed steps for further cooperation and the opening of new markets for Ukrainian plant and animal products.
