Distribution system operators (DSOs, regional energy companies) have completed their scheduled repairs of electrical networks in full in 2024, despite the challenging situation in the energy sector, according to monitoring results.
"This includes repairs of electrical equipment of various voltage levels, clearing of routes for overhead power lines (OPLs) of all voltage classes, implementation of emergency preparedness measures for the autumn-winter period, and readiness for potential emergency situations," - reported the State Energy Supervision Inspectorate of Ukraine (Gosenergonadzor) on Wednesday.
According to the inspectorate's information received from the DSOs, over 29,000 km of OPL routes were repaired in Ukraine last year, approximately 47,000 km of OPL routes were cleared, and 65 km of lightning protection wire was replaced on the lines. Additionally, repairs were conducted on several substations, transformer substations, and electrical equipment.
As explained by Gosenergonadzor, DSOs prepare annual schedules for the execution of planned repair works, which are included in the Program for Ensuring the Reliability of Electrical Network Operations and are approved by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
At the same time, the territorial bodies of the inspectorate carry out systematic monitoring of the completeness and quality of the implemented measures, which serves as a basis for assessing the effectiveness of the completed work and for adjusting work plans for subsequent years.
