According to him, over 99% of residential buildings are prepared for the heating season, and among schools, kindergartens, and hospitals, the number ready for winter is also "approaching 100%." More than 18,000 boiler houses and 4,800 central heating points are in the process of being ready to supply heat, the Prime Minister reported.
Shmyhal also assures that the accumulated resources of gas and coal will be sufficient to get through the winter.
"Currently, we have 12.2 billion cubic meters of blue fuel in gas storage facilities, as well as 3.1 million tons of coal in stock. This is enough to last through the winter. I remind you that this heating season, like the previous one, is planned to be managed with gas from our own production," he said.
Shmyhal also mentioned that all nine power units of the nuclear power plants under Ukraine's control are currently operational, and they will provide the main volume of electricity generation during the heating season.
He noted that the authorities are working on creating decentralized generation by providing loans for citizens, small and medium-sized businesses, as well as for municipal enterprises and communities. In total, credits for energy resilience programs have already reached 2 billion UAH.
"The needs of housing and communal services for cogeneration plants are covered by more than half. There are already 182 cogeneration units, of which 83 are operational. Their total capacity is 147.3 MW. The remaining cogeneration equipment will be installed by the end of this year," the head of the Cabinet emphasized.
