"Support for the army today largely relies on taxes and the financial capabilities of businesses. The army and business are interdependent. Enterprises are considering the possibility of halting operations due to unpredictability in booking matters. There are already signals from military units regarding the risk of reducing direct support from businesses," said Potseiko.
The halt in the booking process, according to the expert, creates a situation where enterprises cannot plan their activities and start seriously contemplating the possibility of downsizing or even shutting down operations. This affects the stability of tax revenues and may weaken the ability of businesses to continue supporting the army both through official channels and volunteer efforts.
"Thus, prolonged blocking of bookings could strike a blow from the rear to the defense capability and national security of Ukraine. Therefore, it is critically important to find a balanced solution today, and while it is being sought, to automatically continue bookings," he emphasized.
The expert stressed that the cooperation between business and the army is a key condition for ensuring stability for both the economy and the country's defense capability.
