"As of today, I do not see any adversary that has the resources to conduct large-scale military operations over an extended period. I even doubt that China is currently prepared to engage in such large-scale actions. It is likely that European countries and the British army will be ready for short-term military actions," he stated.
The ambassador noted that currently, Russians are targeting approximately 2,000 civilian objects (using drones and missiles) monthly in Ukraine, and this number is increasing, potentially reaching 3,000 per month.
"Which NATO country is currently prepared to counter 2,000 aerial targets? [...] The number of aerial targets is rising, while the means to combat them [...] in NATO are limited. Based on this metric, I believe neither Britain nor European countries will be ready, despite having a sufficient number of F-16 aircraft with excellent air defense capabilities. However, in two to three months, this air defense system could be completely exhausted," he believes.
According to Zaluzhnyi, if the Russians begin launching 4,500 guided aerial bombs (GAB) towards the "front line" in a potential war with Europe, as they are currently doing in Ukraine, then "no Patriot systems will be able to intercept them," because there aren't enough interceptor missiles and they are "very expensive."
