Fico accused the "Georgian Legion" of being involved in the protests in Slovakia.

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico accused the "Georgian National Legion," whose volunteers are fighting in Ukraine against the aggressor state, Russia, and its leader Mamuka Mamulashvili of participating in public protests in Slovakia. Fico made this statement during a press conference on January 31, as reported by the TASR agency.
Фицо заявил, что "Грузинский легион" связан с протестами в Словакии.

According to Fico, opposition members and organizers of public protests from the "Peace for Ukraine" association have connections with the "Georgian Legion".

"How is it possible that representatives of the 'Georgian National Legion' operated in Kyiv in 2014 during the Maidan? I ask, how is it possible that they acted in Tbilisi, where some of them even faced accusations and judicial persecution for crimes?" – stated the Slovak Prime Minister.

He added that allegedly the same group of people is appearing in Slovakia.

Fico announced that Slovakia has banned Mamulashvili from entering the country, and that the "Georgian Legion" is supposedly controlled by Ukrainian counterintelligence and finances the "Peace in Ukraine" initiative.

A representative of the initiative, Lucia Stasselova, denied Fico's claims regarding the alleged financing of the legion, as quoted by Dennik N.

At the same time, Slovak Interior Minister Matúš Sutaj Estok spoke about an Ukrainian citizen who is being deported due to an alleged attempt at a coup.

"This Ukrainian citizen has applied for asylum. The decision is made by the migration service of the Ministry of Interior; I think you know how this procedure will end. Before that, this person will be housed in our foreign detention center in Sečovce," he said.
