"Gazprom has officially halted gas supplies to the EU via Ukraine."

In the new year, the aggressor country Russia halted gas supplies for transit through Ukraine to the European Union due to the expiration of a five-year contract. This was reported by Gazprom.
"Газпром" официально прекратил поставки газа в Европейский Союз через Украину.

"On January 1, 2025, at 8:00 AM Moscow time, the validity of the documents signed on December 30, 2019 came to an end: the agreement between PJSC "Gazprom" and NAK "Naftogaz of Ukraine" regarding the transportation of Russian gas through Ukrainian territory, as well as the agreement on cooperation between the gas transportation system operators of Russia and Ukraine – PJSC "Gazprom" and LLC "Operator of the Gas Transmission System of Ukraine," as stated in the Telegram channel of the Russian gas monopoly.

"Gazprom" indicated that the contract with Ukraine expired while there were agreements in place with "a number of European buyers" for fuel supplies. The state-owned company complained about the "repeated and clearly expressed refusal by the Ukrainian side" to extend the transit.

Now, Russia has only the "TurkStream" pipeline left for exporting gas to the EU, notes the propaganda agency RBC.

After the cessation of transit, the aggressor country's army may begin targeting the Ukrainian gas transportation system, as has already happened with gas storage facilities and generation sites, Bloomberg reported on December 28.
