He stated that journalist Yuri Butusov published information about the disability of "almost all" prosecutors of the Khmelnytskyi regional prosecutor's office that is not entirely accurate.
"The total number of prosecutors in the region is 225. Only 48 have disabilities, so claiming that the entire prosecutor's office consists of individuals with disabilities is incorrect. Moreover, most of the disabilities of the staff were not acquired in recent years," wrote Oleinik.
He noted that he himself sustained an injury at work in 2005 while examining materials from a criminal case. He was granted a disability group in 2017, long before his appointment to the position. According to the head of the prosecutor's office, his illness does not hinder the performance of official duties. Current legislation does not impose restrictions on the employment of individuals with disabilities in prosecutor's offices, Oleinik emphasized. During the certification process, the disabilities of the prosecutors were reviewed by the relevant commissions.
"It appears to be discrimination based on the profession of prosecutor. New inspections have been appointed," he remarked.
