The Cabinet has dismissed the deputy minister for veterans' affairs amid a scandal.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to dismiss Ruslana Velychko-Tryfonyuk from her position as Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine in charge of European integration. This was reported on January 7 via Telegram by Taras Melnychuk, a government representative in the Verkhovna Rada and a member of the "Servant of the People" party.
Кабмин уволил заместительницу министра по делам ветеранов на фоне разразившегося скандала.

The dismissal of Velychko-Tryfonyuk was preceded by a scandal involving the head of the Department of European Integration and International Cooperation, war veteran Yevhen Shybalov, who on January 6th informed on Facebook about his resignation due to a lack of respect for his dignity from the leadership.

"In less than six months, from the inspiring motivational speeches of the leadership, I learned a lot of interesting things about myself. In particular, that I am a 'dumb...ass', 'do nothing', 'engage in some h...rassment', 'consider myself a dead... expert', 'only publicize myself instead of working' (for whom?! Apparently, Uber…). Oh! And that I have a 'soft d...ck'," he wrote.

On the same day, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine reacted to Shybalov's statement.

"The Ministry categorically condemns behavior that humiliates the honor and dignity of a war veteran or any person, regardless of age, gender, nationality, social status, and so on, and no circumstances can justify it," the ministry emphasized, announcing a service investigation regarding the "facts and circumstances" disclosed by Shybalov.

"We inform separately that documents have been sent to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the dismissal of Ruslana Velychko-Tryfonyuk from the position of Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine for European Integration issues," the statement said.
