U.S. lawmakers are prohibited from using the Chinese neural network DeepSeek, according to Axios.

American congress members have been prohibited from installing and using the Chinese chatbot DeepSeek. This information was reported by Axios on January 31, referencing a letter sent to the departments of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Конгрессменам США запрещено использовать китайскую нейросеть DeepSeek, сообщает Axios.

According to the report, DeepSeek is currently under consideration by the U.S. House of Representatives.

Employees are prohibited from installing DeepSeek on official phones, computers, and tablets, journalists report.

The media states that Congress is facing challenges in managing and ensuring security due to the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technologies, and the ban indicates that "malicious actors are already using DeepSeek to deliver malware and infect devices."

Axios notes that this is far from the first instance where U.S. lawmakers have restricted the use of artificial intelligence, although other companies subject to such restrictions are based in the United States.
