The Ukrainian diplomatic office explained that Fico resorted to searching for external enemies and found them in Ukraine amid declining trust within Slovak society and protests against his pro-Russian stance.
"We consider these absurd statements as an attempt to shift the blame for his own failures in domestic policy onto foreign states and leaders. We advise him to look not abroad, but in the mirror. The Ukrainian side has repeatedly warned about the dangers of the pro-Russian policies of Slovakia's leadership. The result is clear: Fico and certain parliamentary figures in Slovakia have been poisoned by Russian propaganda, have lost the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, and are now even labeling the leaders of neighboring friendly democracies as 'enemies,'” the statement reads.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is confident that Fico's position and policies contradict the choice of the Slovak people to be an integral part of the European community.
