"The crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane is horrific. We extend our condolences to Azerbaijan. It is telling that Russian media immediately began to lie about the causes of the disaster, as well as the fact that Russia forced the damaged aircraft to fly over the sea," noted Sibiga.
According to him, "this was likely an attempt to cover up the evidence, to destroy proof of their crime."
"The more photos and videos emerge from inside the plane and after its crash, the more they indicate damage from the Russian anti-aircraft system," emphasized Sibiga. "We call for a fair and impartial investigation [of the plane crash in Kazakhstan] to ensure that those responsible are held accountable. We must not allow Russia to lie, evade responsibility, or shift the blame."
According to Ukrainian military intelligence, flight 8432 was shot down by the Russian air defense system "Pantsir-S1" on Russian territory.
