The leaders also discussed Ukraine’s victory plan, which President Volodymyr Zelensky presented to the West and Ukrainians last week.
"The leaders reaffirmed their determination to continue supporting Ukraine in its efforts to ensure a just and lasting peace based on international law, including the UN Charter, as well as respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity," the Scholz office added.
Biden, Macron, Starmer, and Scholz also discussed the implications of the elimination of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the return of Hamas hostages home, ending the war in Gaza, and ensuring humanitarian access to the civilian population.
"The leaders also reiterated their condemnation of Iran's escalating attacks on Israel and coordinated efforts aimed at holding Iran accountable and preventing further escalation. They discussed the situation in Lebanon and agreed on the necessity of working towards the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and a diplomatic solution that would allow civilians on both sides of the 'Blue Line' to safely return home," the release added.
