On Saturday, January 11, a fire broke out at a hotel in the ski resort of Dragobrat in the Carpathians. This information, which appeared on social media, was confirmed by the Main Department of the State Emergency Service in the Transcarpathian Region.

According to social media users, the fire likely started due to an explosion of a gas cylinder. Fortunately, people from the affected hotels were evacuated. However, witnesses noted that one of the hotel guests was carried out of the building on a stretcher.

Rescuers clarified that the report of a fire in one of the hotels at the "Dragobrat" ski complex came in on January 11 at 12:20 PM. Two units of equipment from the state fire and rescue units of the city of Rakhiv and the village of Yasinya, as well as a command vehicle from the city of Khust, were dispatched to the scene.

"The hotel administration and staff evacuated 20 vacationers and attempted to extinguish the flames with fire extinguishers. Additionally, specialists from the mountain search and rescue unit of the village of Kvasy, who are stationed at Dragobrat, assisted in controlling the fire," the statement said.

The State Emergency Service reported that due to the challenging conditions of the mountain path, snow cover, and ice on the slopes, access for the equipment was difficult, which forced firefighters to lay down hose lines to supply water:

"At 14:04, the fire was localized over an area of 150 square meters, and it was completely extinguished by 15:06."

The cause of the fire and the total amount of damage will be determined by law enforcement authorities.
