Oleg Lyashko has been appointed commander of a battalion in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and promoted to the rank of lieutenant colonel, according to reports.
Former Ukrainian people's deputy and leader of the Radical Party, Oleg Lyashko, has been appointed as the commander of the drone control battalion within the 63rd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This information was reported by "Ukrainska Pravda" on October 14, citing an excerpt from a Ministry of Defense order dated October 11.

The document discovered by the publication on social media states that Lieutenant Lyashko, who commanded the unmanned systems unit, has been appointed as the battalion commander and promoted to the position of "Lieutenant Colonel" as part of a service advancement.
The information that Lyashko is now in command of the battalion was confirmed to "Ukrainian Truth" by the press officer of the 63rd OMBr, Rostislav Yashchishin.
On his website in February 2024, marking the second anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, Lyashko was listed as a junior sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and on October 1 of this year – as a junior lieutenant.
