Paris discussed with Denmark the potential deployment of troops to Greenland, according to the French Foreign Ministry.

France has been in discussions with Denmark regarding the possibility of sending troops to Greenland following comments made by U.S. President Donald Trump about acquiring the island. This was stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot during an interview with the French radio station Sud Radio, as quoted by Politico on January 28.
Франция обсуждает с Данией возможное направление войск в Гренландию, сообщает Министерство иностранных дел.

According to Barro, France has begun discussing issues with Denmark, but Copenhagen was reluctant to talk about implementing this idea.

He added that during the meeting of European Union foreign ministers, his colleagues expressed "very strong support" for Copenhagen and were prepared to consider sending troops if necessary.

The Foreign Minister emphasized that Europe has the right to protect its sovereign borders and that a U.S. invasion is unlikely.
