On the evening of January 10, a car collided with a passenger bus near Lviv. As a result of the accident, at least seven people were injured.

According to reports from the Lviv regional police, the incident occurred yesterday around 7:30 PM on the "Kurovichi-Rohatyn" highway in the village of Zatsemne, Lviv district.

Investigators determined that the collision involved a Peugeot 3008 driven by a 36-year-old resident of Ivano-Frankivsk and a Mercedes-Benz bus operated by a 39-year-old resident of the Lviv region.

"As a result of the accident, the driver of the car and six passengers of the bus sustained injuries and were taken to medical facilities," the police noted.

Among the injured are residents of the Lviv region aged 17, 18, and 41, a 67-year-old woman from Lviv, a 28-year-old man from the Lviv district, and a 48-year-old man from the Zolochiv district. The police have initiated a criminal case. The perpetrator faces a penalty of up to three years of restriction of liberty and a ban on driving for up to three years.

Other accidents near Lviv: what is known

On the morning of December 15, news broke about a major accident on the Lviv-Ternopil highway involving a DAF truck, a Mercedes Sprinter minibus, and a BMW passenger car. Seven people died in the accident, and three others were hospitalized.

Subsequently, the National Police detained the driver of the passenger car, who fled the scene after the accident. Upon investigation, law enforcement discovered that the 24-year-old man was intoxicated.

According to data from the National Police, the driver of the BMW, a 23-year-old resident of the Lviv region, crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with the DAF truck, which then lost control and crashed into the Mercedes Sprinter minibus. The driver of the passenger car abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.
