Polish farmers have announced a large-scale rally against EU policies and the import of grain from Ukraine.

Polish farmers have announced a large-scale protest scheduled to take place on January 3rd in Warsaw, according to the portal Farmer.pl.
Польские фермеры объявили о крупном митинге против политики ЕС и импорта зерна из Украины.

The protest is organized by the Union of Agricultural Organizations, with a total of 21 societies agreeing to participate in the event.

"All agricultural organizations in our country will protest against the harmful policies of the European Union, against [the President of the European Commission] Ms. Ursula von der Leyen, who imposes a political tone that will force our farms to close," said Tomasz Obshański, leader of the independent self-governing trade union "Solidarity."

Protest participants oppose the free trade agreement between the EU and the Mercosur countries – an economic union of South American states, the "green deal," the import of grain from Ukraine, and the destruction of Polish forests and the country's economy, the organization noted.

The demonstration will take place in front of the European Commission's representation in the Polish capital and then move to the National Theatre.
