Zelensky emphasized that prioritizing the nuclear industry and boosting gas and oil production are key components of the Resilience Plan.

Nuclear energy is a top priority for Ukraine, while the oil and gas sector's goals include increasing production and supporting the gas transportation system for domestic needs, stated Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Зеленский заявил, что приоритетом атомной отрасли и увеличения добычи газа и нефти определены в Плане устойчивости.

Nuclear generation is a top priority for Ukraine, with tasks in the oil and gas sector focusing on increasing production and supporting the gas transportation system for domestic needs, stated President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

"Nuclear generation is an obvious priority. Gas production needs to increase, our gas storage infrastructure must be integrated into European energy practices, and we also need to support the operation of the Ukrainian gas transportation system according to the baseline scenario for internal needs. Oil production should increase, and processing should be resumed. It's a challenging task, but it must become achievable," he said during his address to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Tuesday, presenting the Resilience Plan.

According to the president, all enterprises within the Naftogaz group have shown improved performance.

"It is especially gratifying to talk now about the performance of state management in Ukrnafta, which has achieved historically significant results. In 2023-2024, it paid 78 billion UAH in taxes and fees, and currently has a net profit of 43 billion UAH. It continuously pays dividends to the budget. And this is during wartime. These figures highlight how much money has been embezzled from Ukrnafta over decades of inadequate state control," the head of state noted.

He emphasized that one of the points of the Plan is to transform Ukraine into Europe’s energy hub.

"Thanks to its energy capabilities, our country can become geopolitically one of the leaders in Europe. Of course, this is more relevant for the time after this war. But the groundwork for this must be laid now," Zelensky stressed.
