Like every sector in Ukraine, telecommunications is currently facing a labor shortage, making leading employers value each of their specialists. According to Work.ua analytics, salary increases remain one of the tools they are using to tackle this issue.

"Kyivstar." This telecommunications operator in Ukraine has been providing communication and data transmission services based on mobile and fixed technologies for 27 years. The company employs over 4,000 staff members, offering medical insurance that also covers 178 mobilized employees. There is a separate support program for employees serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which ensures job retention and payments equivalent to their average monthly income.

Vodafone Ukraine. One of the leading employers, providing jobs for over 3,000 Ukrainians. As of November 2024, Vodafone Ukraine has posted around 80 job openings. Advantages of working at the company include medical insurance, bonuses, and a flexible schedule. For young professionals, the company offers a 6-month internship program, inviting students in their 4th to 6th years or graduates from 2021-2023 with strong analytical skills.

lifecell. The company employs over 1,000 workers. Additionally, more than 50,000 jobs have been created through thousands of partners. Each year, the company reviews salaries to ensure competitive compensation and also provides annual and quarterly bonuses. As of November 2024, according to job search data, the company has about 20 job openings.

IT Sector: How the Field Has Changed and What IT Specialists Earn Now

During the war, the domestic IT sector has faced significant challenges similar to many companies in other fields: security, a decrease in international clients, and employee turnover. In 2024, employers in the IT industry are focusing on how to retain talent and how to establish employee support programs and implement crisis management measures in wartime conditions.

By the end of December, four current job openings can be found on job portals for EPAM. As of November 2024, the company's website lists over 420 active job openings. It is also known that during the war, the company created a veteran adaptation program.

Salaries for Team Lead, Senior, Junior, and Intern levels are on a downward trend. The median salary for "mid-level" positions in 2024 has not changed.

SoftServe. A leading Ukrainian IT company with offices in Europe, the USA, Canada, Latin America, Singapore, and Dubai. SoftServe employs over 11,000 people. During the war, the company continued to globalize by opening 12 new offices in 9 countries, including Ukraine. The company actively donates (over a billion UAH per year), supports veterans, and implements large-scale charitable projects. In the fall of 2024, the SoftServe website published more than 150 job openings in 11 countries worldwide.

Ajax Systems. An international technology company, Ajax Systems is the largest developer and manufacturer of Ajax security systems with smart home capabilities in Europe. The company notes that its team size increases every year, and as of November 2024, Ajax Systems employs 3,302 people. Currently, Ajax Systems offers opportunities to join its team for over 100 specialists. The company provides job opportunities for specialists both in Ukraine and abroad.
