The SBU announced the uncovering of a group of Russian agents suspected of monitoring volunteers and foreigners.

A group of individuals suspected of espionage on behalf of the aggressor country, Russia, has been detained in Kyiv. This information was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine on January 7th.
СБУ сообщила о разоблачении группы агентов России, которые, возможно, следили за волонтерами и иностранными гражданами.

According to law enforcement, the suspects were monitoring well-known volunteers and officials from international organizations in the Ukrainian capital, as well as in Dnipro and Odesa.

The alleged leader of the gang organized "observation posts" on the rooftops of buildings located opposite foreign missions and volunteer offices. The SBU also believes that the group members adjusted missile strikes on Ukraine's defense factories and energy facilities.

During searches, authorities found 15 mobile phones containing correspondence with the occupiers, binoculars, and other surveillance equipment.

The suspects have been charged under Part 2 of Article 28 and Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed in a state of martial law by a group of individuals in premeditated conspiracy). The court has placed the suspects in custody, and they face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
