It has been reported that Scholz intends to meet with Putin in the spring; however, the politicians may do so before February 23 – on this date, federal elections are scheduled in Germany, as stated on January 4 by the opposition Christian Democratic Union (CDU) security spokesman Roderich Kiesewetter.
