Scholz may meet with Putin before February 23, according to the German opposition.

A meeting between German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the illegitimate president of the aggressor nation, Russia, Vladimir Putin, is scheduled for March; however, it may take place before February 23. This was announced on January 4 by Roderich Kiesewetter, the opposition Christian Democratic Union (CDU) spokesperson for security matters, on the social media platform X.

He advised people to "prepare for surprises in the electoral campaign."

"There are increasing signs that Chancellor Scholz will travel to Moscow or meet with Putin before February 23. For Ukraine, the implementation of the planned agenda means, among other things, a suspension of the Paris Charter for 10–20 years," Kiesewetter wrote.

According to the German politician, the reaction of the Ukrainian population and Germany's neighbors will be telling. "Currently, a meeting between Trump and Putin is scheduled for March. Let everyone assess this as they see fit. Ukraine should not be an object and a victim," he stated.

Kiesewetter added that agreements in the current situation would mean capitulation to the aggressor country, and emphasized that "Moscow ties" cannot be tolerated within one's own ranks.

On December 20, Der Spiegel reported, citing an unnamed CDU representative, that Scholz plans to travel to Moscow "in the near future."
