During their conversation, Scholz urged Putin to withdraw Russian troops from Ukraine and initiate negotiations.

On November 15, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz held a phone conversation with the illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported on the official website of the German government.
Шольц призвал Путина вывести российские войска из Украины и начать переговоры во время разговора.

It has been noted that Scholz condemned Russia's aggression against Ukraine and urged Putin to put an end to it and withdraw occupying troops from Ukrainian territory.

Scholz also called on Putin to engage in negotiations with Ukraine "with the aim of achieving a just and lasting peace" and emphasized during the conversation Germany's "unwavering determination to support Ukraine in the peace process."

According to the Chancellor, Germany will assist Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression "for as long as necessary."

As indicated by the German government, prior to calling Putin, Scholz had a preliminary discussion with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and will do so again after speaking with Putin.

According to information from Reuters, the conversation between Scholz and Putin lasted about an hour. Their last phone call took place in December 2022.
