The investigation into the murder case of linguist and former MP Irina Farion is expected to continue for at least another year. This is reported by "Glavkom" citing data from the judicial registry.
Specifically, 15 molecular-genetic examinations are still to be conducted in the case, which will not be ready until at least October-November of next year. The Lviv Scientific Research Expert and Criminalistics Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs explained the lengthy timelines due to the heavy workload on the experts in the biological research and accounting department.
Currently, the criminal case materials include the results of two examinations. The first confirmed that the photo of a man wearing a panama hat and trekking sunglasses, who sat near Farion's house for several consecutive days in the heat, matches the appearance of the murder suspect Vyacheslav Zinchenko. The expert concluded that this is indeed the same individual.
The second examination compared scent samples - the blood of suspect Zinchenko and scent traces collected from a bench near Farion's apartment on the day of her murder. The examination established a match of 99.99%.
