"Standard fairy tale." The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry responded to Fico's claim about a coup being planned in Slovakia.

The statement made by Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico regarding an alleged preparation for a coup and the presence of "experts" in the country purportedly linked to events in Georgia and the Euromaidan in Ukraine is an attempt to intimidate the Slovak public. This was announced by the spokesperson for Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Georgiy Tikhiy, during a briefing on January 23, which was streamed live on Facebook.
"Стандартная сказка". В МИД Украины прокомментировали слова Фицо о якобы подготовке переворота в Словакии.

"We have seen the statements made by the Prime Minister of Slovakia. We view them as attempts to intimidate the Slovak public and consolidate his electorate. Nothing more, nothing less. Similarly, we have seen the leadership of Georgia engage in the same tactics in recent months. It's a typical narrative presented to people, suggesting 'someone is preparing some sort of unrest,'” he said.

According to the Ukrainian diplomat, Fico "should pay attention to his own actions that are stirring unrest among the people in his country." Tikhy advised the Slovak Prime Minister to analyze why his own actions lead to public dissatisfaction.

"There he will find the answers," the speaker added. "Looking for answers in some mythical 'agents,' 'trained individuals' or claims that someone is 'inciting' unrest, or involving 'colors of revolution'... We have heard all this many times before. Ukraine has its own experience when we were told that people on the Euromaidan were all 'paid,' 'prepared' 'militants' from somewhere. It's not even funny anymore."

He believes that Fico "has pulled something out of the closet that has long since spoiled and is no longer appropriate for public use."
