The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Medical-Social Expert Commission, suspected of engaging in corrupt schemes for draft dodgers, was found by law enforcement with over $450,000 in cash, a stash of jewelry, and her son possessing a Russian passport.

According to the press center of the SBU, during the searches, investigators discovered a collection of jewelry that the suspect had hidden at various locations, in addition to the aforementioned amount. A significant portion of the money and valuables was found in her son's apartment, who is a medical university intern. The SBU also uncovered a Russian passport in his possession.

"The young man acquired citizenship of the aggressor country at the former Russian consulate in Odesa before the full-scale war began (the institution ceased operations just before the Russian invasion - UNIAN). Additionally, to conceal illegal income, the official registered three undeclared apartments in her son's name," the SBU reported.

According to the investigation, from 2015 to 2023, the head of the MSEK reported only official income in her declarations, totaling over 2 million UAH. It was also established that last year, the woman obtained a second group disability status for herself and her son to receive benefits and social payments from the state.

Currently, the question of notifying the official of suspicion is being resolved. The investigation is ongoing.

Enrichment of Regional MSEK Leaders

On October 4, the head of the Khmelnytsky Regional Medical-Social Expert Center, Tatyana Krupa, and her son, who held a managerial position in the Pension Fund of Khmelnytsky region, were implicated in illegal enrichment. During searches, nearly $6 million in cash was found with them.

On October 16, information emerged that around 50 prosecutors from Khmelnytsky region had obtained disability status, potentially linked to the Krupa family.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky convened the National Security and Defense Council in response to the incidents involving MSEK and "fake disabilities." He expects rapid and decisive actions from law enforcement, primarily the SBU, the State Bureau of Investigation, and the Office of the Prosecutor General.
