The vice-governor of Russia's Primorsky Krai died while participating in the aggression against Ukraine.

The Vice-Governor of Primorsky Krai, Russia, Sergey Yefremov, was killed while participating in the war against Ukraine. This was announced on February 2 by the governor of the Russian region, Oleg Kozhemyako, via Telegram.
Вице-губернатор Приморского края РФ погиб, участвуя в агрессии против Украины.

"Returning from a combat mission, the commander of the volunteer unit 'Tiger,' Sergey Efremov, was killed," he stated in a video address.

Kozhemyako clarified that the vice-governor died on February 2 while "going out for reconnaissance," which somewhat contradicts his claim of "returning from a combat mission."

From the post by the governor of Primorsky Krai, it follows that Efremov was killed in the Kursk region of Russia, where the Ukrainian army has been conducting its combat operation since August 2024.

Kozhemyako noted that Efremov was a marine in his youth.

The publication Astra released a photo showing Kozhemyako awarding Efremov (who was dressed in military uniform) with some kind of distinction or medal.
