Ukraine has received a $1.35 billion grant from the United States, announced Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
"The U.S. government has allocated funding through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and in coordination with the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the U.S. State Department," - wrote Shmyhal on his Telegram channel.
According to him, these funds will be directed towards priority humanitarian and social programs.
"The attracted funding is aimed at reimbursing priority social and humanitarian expenditures of the state budget, particularly for ensuring salary payments to educators," - clarified the press service of the Ministry of Finance.
It is noted that the funds were transferred to the state budget of Ukraine through the World Bank project "Support for Public Expenditures to Ensure Sustainable Public Governance in Ukraine" (PEACE in Ukraine).
"Direct budget support from the U.S. has reached $28.2 billion since February 2022. This is the largest financial aid to Ukraine from any country in the world (...)," - emphasized Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko.
The Ministry of Finance reminds that this year Ukraine expects $7.8 billion in budget support from the U.S., of which $5.2 billion has already been mobilized.
