According to her, the previously announced aid packages under presidential authority will be received by the Ukrainian army during the term of the new White House leader.
"This is quite normal. When they are announced, you know, we have presidential packages that were announced in November and December [before Trump's victory in the elections]. These opportunities continue to come in. This does not mean that the package is necessarily closed. Some equipment may be received within a few days. Some equipment, as you know, may take much longer," said the Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary.
On January 3, US is preparing new military aid packages for Ukraine, reported John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communications at the US National Security Council. In the coming days, additional announcements from the US regarding security assistance to Ukraine can be expected, he stated.
A White House representative also acknowledged the possibility of holding the next meeting of the contact group on Ukraine defense issues in a "Ramstein" format before the inauguration of the newly elected US President Donald Trump on January 20.
The last time the US announced a military aid package for Ukraine was on December 30, amounting to nearly $2.5 billion .
