Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC ("UGV") has launched a new well with a depth of 4202 meters and a production rate of 170 thousand cubic meters of gas per day, reported the press service of the Naftogaz group.
According to their data, this is already the 15th well at this field since the beginning of 2024. Another one is planned to be drilled by the end of the year.
"The new well has been drilled in the central part of the field. By the end of the year, we plan to drill one more and four more next year. Thanks to the professional and coordinated work of all UGV specialists, we have been able to increase production for the second consecutive year," noted Naftogaz head Alexey Chernyshov, as quoted by the press service.
As stated by UGV head Sergey Lagno, this result was achieved due to the successful choice of the well location.
"This was preceded by earlier 3D seismic surveys and their thorough analysis, as well as preliminary identification of promising horizons and clarification of their thickness," he explained.
As reported, from January to October 2024, Ukrgasvydobuvannya increased its commercial gas production by 6% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 11.6 billion cubic meters. For the year 2023, commercial gas production amounted to 13.224 billion cubic meters, which is 0.679 billion cubic meters more than in 2022.
Naftogaz of Ukraine owns 100% of the shares of Ukrgasvydobuvannya.
