According to them, the candidate from the opposition "Social Democratic Party," Milanović, received 49.1% of the votes. In second place was the representative of the ruling conservative party "Croatian Democratic Union," Dragan Primorac, who garnered 19.35% of the votes.
As reported by the Ministry of Justice and Administration of Croatia, the second round of elections will take place on January 12, 2025.
The publication "Radio Free Europe" emphasizes that the current head of the Croatian state promised his supporters at a rally in Zagreb to "fight for Croatia with a clear position that cares for its interests."
As noted by the media, Milanović has been publicly labeled as a pro-Russian politician multiple times, although he has denied this. Furthermore, the President of Croatia opposed the admission of Finland and Sweden into NATO, as well as the training of Ukrainian defense forces on Croatian training grounds as part of the EU countries' joint efforts.
