US Congress urges Biden to allow Poland to intercept Russian missiles over Ukraine.

Congress members Joe Wilson (Republican Party) and Steve Cohen (Democratic Party) have urged U.S. President Joe Biden to grant NATO ally Poland permission to utilize its air defense systems over Ukraine to intercept Russian missiles, "particularly those that pose a threat to invade Polish airspace." The relevant letter was published by The Hill on October 30.
В Конгрессе США предложили Байдену дать Польше разрешение на перехват российских ракет над Украиной.

The request is based on Poland's desire to utilize its air defense systems to protect itself from Russian missiles and to assist Ukraine in its defense.

"Despite Russia's ongoing escalation of hybrid warfare – including violations of airspace, attacks on critical infrastructure, and attempts to destabilize democratic institutions – we have not taken decisive action to confront these threats, allowing Russia to wage war against the Alliance with minimal repercussions," wrote Wilson and Cohen.

In this context, Poland's request to intercept and destroy missiles over Ukraine is deemed "necessary and urgent as a mechanism to support Ukraine and protect the front lines of NATO borders," the congressmen added.
