12 countries are coming together to enhance security and support Ukraine. These include the Nordic nations (Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland), the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), as well as Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and the United Kingdom.
"I thank my friend, the Minister of Defense of Denmark, for his leadership and hospitality. We agreed that the next meeting in the 'Northern Group – Ukraine' format will be held in Ukraine," Umerov stated.
According to him, the meeting participants discussed plans for 2025, urgent needs of Ukraine, and how to address them as quickly as possible. Additionally, they focused on common threats and equipping combat brigades with heavy equipment.
"Investments in the Ukrainian defense industry are a separate priority. More countries are joining in financing Ukrainian production, including under the Danish model: Sweden, Norway, Lithuania," the minister noted.
He emphasized that the participating countries are leaders in supporting Ukraine. They were the first to provide modern Western-style main battle tanks, delivered long-range ammunition, supplied long-range air defense systems, supported Ukraine in funding its defense industry, and transferred F-16 fighter jets.
