In one of the technical rooms of the preliminary collection point for military personnel in the Poltava region, a man's body was discovered showing signs of suicide. This was reported by the Poltava regional TC and SP.
"On October 21, in one of the technical rooms of the preliminary collection point for military personnel, a man's body was found with clear indications that he had taken his own life. No signs of violence were detected," the statement said.
The TC noted that the military personnel was brought to the preliminary collection point by the police, as he was wanted.
"He refused to undergo a military medical commission, which resulted in a refusal report being drafted. A notification was being prepared for the police regarding the commission of a criminal offense under Article 336 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine," the TC informed.
They also added that the mentioned man was previously convicted under this article for three years of imprisonment, with a release from punishment after one year of probation, which ended in September of this year.
The TC claims that no physical or psychological pressure was exerted on the military personnel - he was waiting at the assembly point while all documents were being processed.
A service investigation is underway to clarify all the causes and circumstances.
Suspilne, citing sources, reports that the man committed suicide in the preliminary collection point for military personnel in the Shcherbaniv community. He hung himself in the restroom. His body was discovered by maintenance staff.
An investigation into the man's death has been initiated under part 1 of Article 115 "Intentional murder".
