Kazakhstan's Senate dismissed the claim that a Russian aircraft shot down an Azerbaijani plane as mere "hype and speculation."

Kazakhstan's Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbaev commented on the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft in Aktau on December 25, according to Orda.kz.
В Казахстанском сенате охарактеризовали версию о сбитии азербайджанского самолета Россией как "хайп и спекуляции".

He stated that representatives from Azerbaijan and Russia have also been involved in the investigation alongside the Kazakh side. He considers the assumptions voiced regarding the passenger Embraer 190, which was flying from Baku to Grozny (Chechnya, Russia), having been shot down by a Russian air defense missile, to be speculation.

"To immediately draw conclusions from a photograph, claiming that it is the result of certain actions, and so forth – this is speculation; these are unfounded statements. Promoting such assessments is incorrect and unethical. Above all, it indicates that certain individuals want to gain some dividends for themselves, create hype, and obtain something in return, including views," said Ashimbaev.

He emphasized that none of the countries conducting the investigation are interested in concealing information.
