Thirteen military officials are under suspicion for the illegal allocation of over 13 million UAH in additional payments.

According to the National Police, the funds were allocated to military personnel who were not in combat zones, to individuals who had never served, or to those who had deserted their military units.

Among the suspects are unit commanders, leaders, and staff from various divisions, as well as a former head of the regional military recruitment center. Following the instructions of one of the suspects, subordinates even illegally extracted minerals and repaired his home and that of his relatives.

In the Cherkasy region, a military unit commander signed an order for additional bonuses for 91 soldiers who did not participate in combat. In this case, the amount of illegally allocated funds reached 5,945,000 UAH.

A similar situation occurred in the Chernihiv region, with the only difference being the total amount disbursed. Here, the chief of staff of a military unit awarded additional bonuses to service members totaling 412,500 UAH.

In the Odessa region, the acting assistant commander for financial and economic affairs unlawfully allocated more than 545,000 UAH to four individuals who had deserted the unit, while the deputy chief of staff of another military unit received 670,000 UAH based on forged documents.

In Ternopil, the commander and the platoon unit chief calculated and paid over one million UAH to service members who were supposedly in combat zones per orders but were actually at their residences.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the former regional military commissioner is suspected of allocating over one million UAH in payments to individuals who had not served in the military.

In the Khmelnytskyi region, a brigade commander paid five servicemen 30,000 UAH each for their alleged direct participation in combat while they were actually repairing his home and that of his relatives. Additionally, these individuals used military equipment to engage in illegal extraction of limestone and construction stone for building projects. The total damage caused exceeded one million UAH.

In Lviv, a battalion commander unlawfully paid nearly 370,000 UAH, while in the Rivne region, a company commander allocated 740,000 UAH to military personnel. In Transcarpathia, a military unit employee misled her superiors about her supposedly being on duty in a specific area and received over 250,000 UAH.

In the Luhansk region, operatives gathered materials that led to the announcement of suspicions against two servicemen for providing false information in official documents. As a result, individuals who did not participate in combat received nearly 1,200,000 UAH in additional payments.

All suspects have been informed of their charges. Depending on their roles and involvement in the illegal activities, their actions have been classified as follows:

- Part 2 of Article 367 ("official negligence");

- Part 4 of Article 425 ("negligent attitude towards military service");

- Part 2 of Article 364 ("abuse of power or official position");

- Part 4 of Article 409 ("evasion of military service by self-harm or other means");

- Part 4 of Article 191 ("embezzlement, misappropriation of property, or acquisition of property through abuse of official position");

- Parts 3, 4 of Article 190 ("fraud");

- Part 1 of Article 366 ("official forgery") of the Criminal Code.

The question of choosing a preventive measure for the suspects is being resolved.

Corruption in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

On January 21, it became known about the arrest of the chief psychiatrist of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who, during the full-scale war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, amassed more than 1 million dollars by acquiring real estate in the Kyiv region and in Odessa.

According to the Security Service of Ukraine, this individual also serves as the deputy chairman of the Central Military Medical Commission and is responsible for assessing the suitability of military personnel for service.
