The Moldovan Prime Minister claims that Russia is behind the energy crisis in Transnistria, seeking to exert influence over Ukraine as well.

The energy crisis in the Moldovan region of Transnistria has arisen due to the actions of the aggressor country, Russia. This statement was made by Moldova's Prime Minister Dorin Recean during a crisis briefing in Chișinău on January 6, as reported by "Ukrainska Pravda."
Премьер Молдовы утверждает, что за энергетическим кризисом в Приднестровье стоит Россия, которая стремится оказать влияние и на Украину.

The publication notes that Rechan began his speech by expressing gratitude to Ukraine and its Armed Forces for protecting Europe, particularly Moldova. He emphasized that the energy crisis in Transnistria is artificially created by the aggressor country, Russia.

"Chisinau offered [Transnistria] assistance, but this proposal was rejected, as Russia needs an artificially created humanitarian crisis," stated the Prime Minister of Moldova.

According to him, Russia controls Transnistria and does not allow anyone to assist the region.

"Russia's goal is to create instability in the region and, importantly, to influence the elections in Moldova scheduled for the fall. Their aim is to establish a pro-Russian government, which would ultimately help them consolidate their military capabilities and subsequently use this leverage, including against Ukraine," believes Rechan.
