Zelensky has no plans to sign a law abolishing the switch to winter time, according to media reports.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has not signed a law since July that would abolish the practice of changing the clocks and keep Ukraine on standard time year-round, and he does not intend to sign it. This information was reported by "BBC News Ukraine" on October 24, citing sources within the Presidential Office.
СМИ сообщают, что Зеленский не собирается подписывать законопроект о прекращении перехода на зимнее время.

The deadline for vetoing the law has passed, but Zelensky is not planning to sign it, according to sources. One of them mentioned that the idea for the bill originated from the Speaker of Parliament, Ruslan Stefanchuk, and the veto was avoided to "not offend" him.

However, when the consequences of its adoption were assessed, negative impacts on the economy were identified – "losses in the billions," said one of the publication's informants.

In addition to the arguments against signing the law, one official mentioned petitions like "don't steal our evenings," which were raised by Ukrainians.

If the law is not signed, Ukrainians will continue to switch to summer time in March and to winter time in October, notes "BBC News Україна."
