Zelensky on Ukraine's NATO membership: Skepticism remains among Germans, while the U.S. has moved significantly closer to supporting us than before.

France will support Ukraine's accession to NATO. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Ukrainian media, which was broadcast on the YouTube channel "We are Ukraine" on October 18.
Зеленский отметил, что немцы все еще скептически относятся к членству Украины в Альянсе, в то время как позиции США стали значительно ближе.

"[French President] Emmanuel [Macron] will personally handle this. I believe he will also collaborate with other partners whose support is crucial for a positive resolution of this point [in Ukraine's victory plan]," noted Zelensky.

According to him, "the rather complex issue of NATO membership invitations" depends on the United States.

Zelensky shared that during his tour and meetings with Western leaders, where he presented the victory plan, "there was a lot of discussion about Ukraine's future, particularly regarding NATO."

"The German position is very important to me. I believe there is still skepticism among the Germans. We are closer to NATO with the United States than we have ever been. I think we are much closer now," the president emphasized.
