Zelensky emphasized that the state of martial law in Ukraine entails the mobilization of individuals and all resources, thus it is necessary to "force Russia to end this war."
"Mobilization is underway, and it is mobilizing a significant number of people. […] They have rotations or leaves, but certainly, that is not enough. We definitely need to work on the quality of this, and there is a question of how to return home and not come back to the front? Are there such requests? Certainly, there are; they are not provided for by law today," the president underscored.
Zelensky pointed out that Ukraine is currently defending itself against full-scale Russian aggression.
"If tomorrow, for instance, half of the army simply goes home, then we should have surrendered on the first day. That’s the reality, because if tomorrow half of the people go home and return, [illegitimate Russian President Vladimir] Putin will kill us all, he will just kill everyone. That’s exactly how it will be, for those who cannot escape abroad. But he will definitely destroy everything," the head of state stated.
Zelensky added that wherever there was resistance, the occupiers destroyed everything, and the remaining people were killed.
"And those who left are left with nothing. That’s all," the President of Ukraine concluded.
