Zelensky on mobilization from age 18: We don't see the necessity for these changes. It's a risky move.

In Ukraine, there are currently no plans to lower the conscription age to 18. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky in an interview with Ukrainian media, which was broadcast on the "We are Ukraine" YouTube channel on October 18.
Зеленский о мобилизации с 18 лет: На данный момент не понимаем, зачем вводить такие изменения. Это может быть опасно.

Advisor to the President's Office, Sergey Leshchenko, stated on October 15 that American politicians from both the Democratic and Republican parties are pressuring Zelensky regarding mobilization issues. In particular, they are interested in why Ukraine is not mobilizing individuals aged 18 to 25, Leshchenko noted.

"Our partners would like to see the [mobilization] age lowered. Currently, we have mobilization starting at 25. We do not yet see the need to implement these changes. I believe that, at this point, it is dangerous," Zelensky commented in an interview.

According to him, individuals younger than the mobilization age (25 years) can still enlist under contract.

"As for plans regarding mobilization starting at 18, as some may suggest… There is a lot of misinformation being circulated, and that is a significant issue. Therefore, there are no such plans at this time," Zelensky concluded.
