Zelensky warned the Australian Prime Minister that holding any potential negotiations without Ukraine is "dangerous for everyone."

On February 4, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he had a conversation with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
Зеленский предупредил премьер-министра Австралии, что любые возможные переговоры без участия Украины "представляют опасность для всех".

"I expressed gratitude for Australia's unwavering support of Ukraine and our people. It is crucial that our coalition in defense of international law remains genuinely global. We are also working to expedite a new package of defense assistance," said the head of state. "We discussed tightening sanctions against Russia for its war, and Australia is prepared for further actions. Reliable security guarantees, strengthening our defense capabilities, and increasing pressure on Russia to end the war remain priorities for Ukraine."

Zelensky and Albanese discussed upcoming contacts with partners, primarily with the United States, and potential formats for cooperation with other leaders to jointly pressure the Russian Federation, informed the Office of the President.

"The president emphasized separately that conducting any potential negotiations without Ukraine is dangerous for all parties involved," the statement said.

Zelensky and Albanese also talked about direct investments in Ukraine's defense industry and military-technical cooperation, the Office of the President added.

Special attention was given to the fate of Australian citizen and volunteer Oskar Jenkins, who has been captured by the aggressor state, Russia.

"The head of state noted that Ukraine is ready to make the necessary efforts to establish all the circumstances," the Office of the President concluded.

Albanese described his discussion with Zelensky as "positive".

"Australia supports the brave and inspiring Ukrainian people in their defense of national sovereignty and international rule of law," he stated.
