Zelensky stated that NATO is delaying Ukraine's membership, and this process could extend for years or even decades, which is beyond Ukraine's control. The president questioned what could help Ukraine defeat Russia and what missiles or other weapons partners could provide.
"Are we going to be given nuclear weapons? Then let them give us nuclear weapons. Will they provide us with missiles in sufficient quantities to stop Russia? I'm not sure about that, but I believe it would help. Otherwise, what missiles can stop Russia's nuclear missiles? That's a rhetorical question. Let's do this. Return our nuclear weapons. Provide us with missile systems, help us finance a million-strong army, and move your contingent to the parts of our state where we seek stability so that people can feel safe," Zelensky said.
He asserted that the illegitimate president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, must completely withdraw from Ukrainian territory.
"He invaded because he was afraid we would become NATO members. Fine, we are not NATO members. Get off our land. This should be viewed in that light, because how else?" the president remarked.
